The Sportscaster101.com studios are located in East Meadow (one mile east of the Nassau Coliseum) & house a simulated television set, teleprompter, professional voice-over booth & more! How would you conduct yourself in an interview with your favorite athlete? What goes into asking the right questions? How do I handle callers into a radio show? Every aspect of the field is covered & each trainee walks away with their very own specialized DVD of their work & the opportunity to create interviews, shows & reports of their own.
Sportscaster101.com also offers specially-designed classes for students who have special needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Speech and/or Language Impairments, and Learning Disabilities. These classes are individualized & tailored to highlight core areas, such as social skills, speech & language development & activities of daily living using broadcasting techniques. Classes are differentiated & modified to match student skill level. Vinny works alongside a certified psychologist, who has experience working with students in special education across grade levels.
Vinny Micucci has worked as an on-air announcer for nearly 15 years traveling around the world in the process. The Long Island native graduated from Hofstra University where he spent much of his time with WRHU covering Football, Baseball, Basketball & Lacrosse. Additionally, he was the on-field voice of the Long Island Ducks in 2002. His most notable work came with MLB.com where he called TV & Radio play-by-play of numerous Major League games with MLB TV. Micucci hosted a daily radio show called “Leading Off” with John Marzano & worked closely with other former big leaguers & executives like Harold Reynolds, Jim Duquette & Brian McRae. Much of his work & experiences are captured in his recently released book, “From Sports Fan to Sportscaster”.
