?It was blazing hot,? recounts Marcia Kadens. ?Our team was a mess (one missed her last leg due to family emergency, one missed hers to stay with her until she could get a train home). Van 1 couldn’t get to the finish before our last runner did so we had to hold up and wait before crossing….I could go on. I think this relay was the most grueling thing I’ve ever done. Amanda Carey is especially proud of Ultra team member Kate Skerret. ?She was recently diagnosed with arthritis in her hips and she is still in her 20s,?
