Applicants for Many Social Media Marketing Jobs Must Now Have Pinterest Experience

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) April 02, 2012

Lori Gilson, president of Utah-based PRMarketing.com, said many of the agency?s social media marketing clients are now requesting Pinterest accounts along with the popular Facebook and Twitter pages.

?Our clients are always looking for the new, up-and-coming social media websites. When they see how popular Pinterest has become in the past few months, naturally they want to know what marketing opportunities are available to them,? Gilson said.

Looking to enhance their online public relations campaigns, companies scrambled to Pinterest last year as monthly traffic to the website shot up from 418,000 to 11.7 million unique visitors, according to a report from comScore.

This has led to more marketing job postings with Pinterest experience preferred. A report by Wanted Technologies shows that since August there have been 59 new employment ads for candidates who have experience using Pinterest for marketing. A search for Pinterest on Monster.com showed several companies looking for experts all over the country. Job titles include social media marketing specialist, social media manager, senior director of product management, sales and marketing associate and brand manager.

Pinterest is described as a virtual pinboard that lets users organize and share content they find on the Web. Well known for its strong female base, Pinterest helps users plan weddings, decorate their homes, share recipes and expand their wardrobe. With nearly 30 percent of users reporting an annual household income of more than $ 100,000, marketers have quickly noticed this prime demographic.

Nordstrom, Whole Foods, West Elm and ModCloth all have Pinterest accounts with more than 9,000 followers. Southwest Airlines, Zales and even President Barack Obama?s re-election campaign have started Pinterest accounts recently.

?It?s important to take advantage of Pinterest?s first-mover advantages,? said Alyssa Vincent, a social media consultant at PRMarketing.com. ?Just like with Facebook and Twitter, gaining an audience early can save you money down the road. It is key to join the site while it?s growing instead of after membership has already plateaued.?

According to Pat Parkinson, director of public relations for PRMarketing.com, ?If you haven?t joined, you?re already late to the game.?

?The important thing is you start now. Not only does it add value to your business but your products can also gain significant ?word of pin? traction,? he said. ?In the next few months Pinterest could be a staple in every social media campaign.?

Chicago Social Security Disability Benefits Lawyer Says New Compassionate Allowances Will Help Applicants

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 23, 2012

Chicago Social Security disability benefits lawyer Lawrence Disparti said that the 52 newly announced Compassionate Allowances for disability benefits announced this month should speed benefits decisions. Still, they could also complicate individuals? claims, he said.

?The many new allowances that will become effective in August will be a great service to thousands of deserving individuals,? Disparti said, ?but applying for benefits still requires knowledge of the Social Security program that most applicants, unfortunately, do not have.?

Disparti is the founder of the Disparti Law Group, a Chicago Social Security disability benefits law firm with additional offices in Cleveland, Ohio, and Tampa, Florida. The firm helps individuals with filing for Social Security Disability (SSD) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. It also represents clients in appeals when their claims are denied.

?Applicants for SSD and SSI benefits who think they qualify for the Compassionate Allowances program would do well to seek the help of an experienced Social Security benefits lawyer to guide them through the application process,? Disparti said.

Earlier this month, the Social Security Administration announced 52 new Compassionate Allowances conditions that will go into effect in August. The new conditions primarily include neurological disorders, cancers and rare diseases.

The Compassionate Allowances program fast-tracks disability decisions. Through the program, individuals with the most serious disabilities may receive their benefit decisions within possibly days instead of months or years.

Applicants must still otherwise qualify for SSI or SSD benefits. The requirements include paying Social Security taxes and working for a specified length of time.

When the program started in 2008, 50 conditions qualified as Compassionate Allowances. The 52 new conditions will increase the total to 165, the Social Security Administration said in a news release. The conditions include cancers, brain disorders, rare genetic disorders, early-onset Alzheimer?s disease and immune system conditions.

?The Social Security Administration has also established an online disability application, which will make applying for benefits easier,? Disparti said. ?But don?t assume this is a simple, one-step process.?

Disparti said the SSA benefits program has numerous requirements and rules that can make the application process difficult for many who qualify for benefits.

?Most people applying for disability benefits are looking at these government-written rules and regulations for the first time,? Disparti said. ?An application that is incomplete or improper in the most minor way can be delayed or rejected.

?A lawyer well-versed in Social Security?s disability programs can help an applicant determine whether they qualify for the Compassionate Allowances initiative and either get their application into that program or take other steps to get a claim processed as efficiently and effectively as possible,? he said.

?And having prepared the original claim, that lawyer can, in the unlikely case of a rejection, quickly amend the application for an appeal.?
