Obsessive compulsive disorder is a problem that at present affects one in fifty people in the United States, and double that many people have experienced the symptoms at one time or another. Obsessive compulsive disorder is known as a psychiatric anxiety disorder that is most frequently characterized by a subject’s obsessive behavior of doing something repeatedly. People who suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder often find themselves driven to execute certain practices over and over again.
The obsessions and compulsions that sufferers experience can differ greatly, but characteristically are ideas or impulses that come to their mind over and over again. They may even find these images and impulses to be distressing but are not able to control them. They generally end up suffering from depression, which often makes the obsessive compulsive disorder even worse. They then find themselves lost in a nasty cycle that seems not possible to get out of.
Typical symptoms: Obsessions and compulsions
In order to understand the condition and identify if you may be suffering from it yourself, there are certain symptoms that you will want to watch out for. This disorder usually includes both obsessions and compulsions, and can be extremely severe and time consuming because the sufferer needs to repeat things over and over again, things that they would normally only have to do once.
The obsessive side of this disorder includes thought or images that a person cannot stop in their mind. These disturbing thoughts often hinder with other intentional activities or thoughts. One common obsession of obsessive compulsive disorder symptom is a constant fear about germs and contamination. This is one of the causes why many people that are suffering from this disorder will wash their hands frequently. Sometimes the disorder can keep people from leaving their homes or going to certain events or places where they feel many germs might be lurking.

The compulsive part of this disorder comprises of repetitive behaviors that the person has difficulty to control. This is how people with this disorder will attempt to manage the obsessive thoughts in their mind. For instance, if the person worries about remembering to lock the front door, he may go back and check the lock many times to make sure that the action was really done. Although the compulsive behavior is meant to ease the thoughts that cannot be turned off, the behavior itself often becomes a basis of anxiety due to the amount of time that is spent to do it.
These symptoms differ from one case of obsessive compulsive disorder to another, but the basic tends to remain the same. The severity of these symptoms will also vary greatly. While some people only experience very mild symptoms, others are so intense that they often are powerless to complete their regular daily activities. Obsessive compulsive disorder is never fun, but when it starts to disrupt regular living and you begin revolving your lifestyle around it, you know that a problem exists and you need to get treatment for it.
The right treatments
When it comes to obsessive compulsive disorder treatment, you have quite a few alternatives. Self-help books are usually very effective, although they may

This will probably be compared to that classic video with Darth Vader, but I noticed there were a lot of good reaction shots in this one scene and Luke closing the door was the only thing to focus on. So consider this a tribute to “Darth Vader Being A Smartass” with hopefully something original about it too.
There is an alarming amount of people who feel that they will have obsessive compulsive disorder for the rest of their lives. They have been deceived and lead in the wrong direction. People told them it could not be cured
These people have been told that they will have to see a therapist for a long time and have to take drugs for many years to treat their OCD. They’ve been lied to their whole lives by greedy wolves who want their money.
I can tell you from experience that you do not need to spend your life savings on therapists and expensive drugs, but with a little bit of money, you can learn what you need to do with the internet and medical journals or books, etc.
The best method to get over OCD is to find someone who has beaten it. Not just someone that had a few symptoms or had it for a week, I’m talking about someone who had it for years and who suffered tremendously with it before they escaped.

When you find that person, make sure that you model them and copy them. Doing what they do will teach you to become OCD free, it’s just that simple.
Now that you know to find someone to model who is where you want to be, you’ve got to do the work.
You’ve got to work hard. Stop looking for a shortcut, there are none. People are so amazed by NLP but what they don’t tell you is that it doesn’t work for everyone and that if you don’t do maintenance exercises, your OCD will come back.
When they say there is no free lunch, they are not kidding. I spent a good part of my life looking for an easy way when one did not exist.
Another thing they don’t tell you is that a lot of people that have OCD just aren’t willing to do what it takes to become OCD free. They keep putting off facing their rituals, they keep putting off facing their fears and every time you put it off, it becomes stronger.
You’ve really got to do your homework and set short term and long term goals for yourself that you can follow to get rid of OCD.
Take action: Find someone who has gotten the results that you want and model them. Do what they have done, act as they act. Talk like they talk and think like they think.
Once you can copy their results, then you can get even better results then they can. You’ve got to decide to empower yourself and do what you know what you know at this moment!

Hi, I used to have OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). I wanted to share my story on how I got out of OCD and hope it might be a help to others. Sorry if I ramble on too long.
Imagine that you are on a hamster wheel, you can’t stop it, you are forced to keep running and as you run you must perform certain actions, each a certain amount of times in a particular order. If you tried to stop the fears would overcome you, so you have to go on and on. For a sufferer of OCD or Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder this is their life.
Sadly this illness can strike at any age from childhood to late middle age and the causes are still not confirmed. We have no realistic idea of how many people suffer from OCD because it is undiagnosed and untreated in many cases. Figures suggest that it may take up to 20 years for the symptoms to be correctly diagnosed and for the patient to get the right treatment.
Sometimes a number of doctors and other professionals are involved before an effective treatment plan is established. Even then many patients remain untreated as they have become adept at hiding OCD. Some have developed a manageable lifestyle which enable them to function by hiding the the symptoms of their OCD.
Hiding OCD is not the answer to dealing with this illness but it is completely understandable. Whilst it is a fact that this illness is a medical condition being an illness of the brain which affects the passage and interpretation of information and communication. Sufferers can exhibit strange behaviour so if its symptoms are sometimes bizarre and frightening for the OCD sufferer this is even more the case for others who come into contact with him or her.

Dealing with a panic attack is no easy feat but when the attack is coupled with an obsessive compulsive disorder can be incredibly hard to control. Having an is absolutely devastating experiences leaving the victim feeling as if they are going to die in particularly severe instances.
Though some people who suffer from panic attacks report the same symptoms, treating an OCD panic attack can be a lot harder to get rid of. Anyone suffering such an attack needs to look for treatment at the onset. It may be that the obsessive compulsive disorder was brought on by a panic attack initially by trying to avoid situations that have triggered an attack in the past.

Methods for treating an OCD panic attack are usually limited to two different (and not always compatible) prescriptions being issued in an attempt to manage the attacks; this is not an ideal long term solution.
However, there are holistic* methods to control and eventually get rid of both OCD and panic attacks using various methods of treatment, this involves discovering what it is that is triggering the attacks and then use natural cures to get rid of both.
Panic attacks are not caused by real time events, they are a figment of the sufferer’s imagination, a made up situation of their own creation. By removing this fear the panic attacks will stop as well as the OCD. By choosing the right options and treatments your OCD panic attack can become a thing of the past and you can take your life back.
* Holistic: to take into account all of someone’s physical, mental, and social conditions in the treatment of illness.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is an anxiety disorder. The symptoms vary between each condition but the cause is still the same. You are suffering from an inappropriate high anxiety level.
The condition can start for any number of reasons.
OCD affects men and women equally and the symptoms may have developed in childhood. Over four million Americans are affected by OCD, around the world there are millions more suffering or affected by this behaviour.
OCD can present itself in many different ways, for example -
· Washing your hands repeatedly because you are frightened of germs and dirt.
· Constantly going to locks, stoves, and lights to make sure they are set or off.
· The pre occupation with order, always arranging items in a certain position.
· Constantly touching things or counting for long periods of time.
These are just a few examples of the obsessions and compulsions that OCD sufferers display. They cannot stop what they do because of the fear of what the consequences might be. There is no reason for fear, but because of their inappropriate high level of anxiety causing their anxiety disorder, an inexplicable fear is controlling them.

I observed a sufferer just recently and this is what happened -
I watched as a young man parked his car on the street. He got out of the car then gathered up his belongings to prepare for another day at work, laptop, briefcase and lunchbox. He closed and locked the car door, and then checked that all his other car doors were secure and locked.Once that was done, he proceeded to move around his car again, checking all the car windows were shut, and then repeated to check his car doors again. All the time he was struggling to hold onto his belongings, that he was carrying.
Eventually, when he was sure his car was secure he walked off down the street. Within a few minutes he came back to the car, still clutching his belongings, I thought that maybe he had forgotten something or needed to move the car, but NO.
Off he went again with his security check of the car doors and windows.
I wondered to myself, does he do this everyday? Does he realise what he is doing?
I watched him over the next few days, and yes, the checking and returning to his car to check again continued. This ritual seemed to be a part of his daily routine.
This young man was suffering OCD, how do I know, because I too had carried out this daily ritual day after day, over many years. I wanted to go to him and say I understood, but didn’t want to embarrass him. I wanted to tell him about a cure for this problem which by following a simple and easy set of instructions you can make it stop permanently.
There is a simple and easy cure for OCD called the Linden Method. You can use this method alone in the privacy of your own home. There are no medications, no hypnosis or therapy. Confidence in this method of curing you is so high that it carries a full 12 month money back guarantee.
