L. acidophilus occurs naturally in the human and animal gastrointestinal tract, mouth, and vagina.. Some strains of L. acidophilus may be considered to have probiotic characteristics . These strains are commercially used in many dairy products, sometimes together with S. salivarius ssp. thermophilus and Lactobacillus delbrueckii ssp. bulgaricus in the production of acidophilus-type yogurt.

L. acidophilus is part of the normal vaginal flora. The acid produced by L. acidophilus in the vagina may help to control the growth of the fungus Candida albicans, thus helping to prevent vaginal yeast infections. The same beneficial effect has been observed in cases of oral or gastrointestinal Candidiasis infections. Certain spermicides and contraceptive creams can kill L. acidophilus in the vagina, clearing the path to possible yeast infections.

Lactobacillus Salivarius 1.2MG. Lactobacillus is a genus of Gram-positive facultative anaerobic or microaerophilic bacteria. They are a major part of the lactic acid bacteria group, named as such because most of its members convert lactose and other sugars to lactic acid. They are common and usually benign. In humans they are present in the vagina and the gastrointestinal tract, where they are symbiotic and make up a small portion of the gut flora. Many species are prominent in decaying plant material. The production of lactic acid makes its environment acidic, which inhibits the growth of some harmful bacteria.

Pancreatin 325MG. Pancreatin or Pancrelipase (trade names Creon (Solvay), Nutrizym (Merck), Pancrease HL (Janssen-Cilag) and Pancrex (Paines & Byrne)) is a mixture of several digestive enzymes produced by the exocrine cells of the pancreas. It is composed of amylase, lipase and protease. This mixture is used to treat conditions in which pancreatic secretions are deficient, such as surgical pancreatectomy, pancreatitis and cystic fibrosis. It has been claimed to help with food allergies, celiac disease, autoimmune disease, cancer and weight loss. Pancreatin is sometimes called “pancreatic acid”, although it is neither a single chemical substance nor an acid.

Pancreatin contains the pancreatic enzymes trypsin, amylase and lipase. A similar mixture of enzymes is sold as pancrelipase, which contains more active lipase enzyme than does pancreatin. The trypsin found in pancreatin works to hydrolyze proteins into oligopeptides; amylase hydrolyzes starches into oligosaccharides and the disaccharide maltose; and lipase hydrolyzes triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerols. Pancreatin is an effective enzyme supplement for replacing missing pancreatic enzymes, and aids in the digestion of foods in cases of pancreatic insufficiency.

Inulin 100MG. Inulins are a group of naturally occurring polysaccharides produced by many types of plants. They belong to a class of fibers known as fructans. Amy German tweeted, ?Panties flying in the wind on the interstate!? as the Panty Raider team headed toward Exchange 34 where Aspaeris Marketing Director, Kari Ricigliano was volunteering. Teammates kept up their spirits and pace amid several adversities, including 94 degree heat. All runners remarked favorably on the recovery benefits of APS.

?It was blazing hot,? recounts Marcia Kadens. ?Our team was a mess (one missed her last leg due to family emergency, one missed hers to stay with her until she could get a train home). Van 1 couldn’t get to the finish before our last runner did so we had to hold up and wait before crossing….I could go on. I think this relay was the most grueling thing I’ve ever done. But the shorts were super stars!?

Amanda Carey is especially proud of Ultra team member Kate Skerret. ?She was recently diagnosed with arthritis in her hips and she is still in her 20s,? Amanda relayed. ?She was struggling a lot with it at the beginning of the year but has been wearing the Aspaeris Pivot Shorts since I handed them to her in February and they have done wonders. She told me she really likes them for icing too, because she just slides an ice bag between layers and it stays in place!?

After the race, Kate Skerret commented, ?I really do believe that the shorts saved me from a lot of muscle soreness. There is no soreness in my hips or even my quads after the relay, whereas my calves are screaming.?

Naively I thought that they, being biochemists, didn?t know about them.”

“On page 121 the book states that ‘unsaturated dietary fats replenish damaged oxidized lipids?and reducing the risk of CVD.’ No dietary trial has been able to prevent CVD mortality by exchanging saturated with unsaturated fat.

“On page 122 the book states that ‘prostaglandins are made from omega-6 type fats (such as olive oil..’ Olive oil contains mainly monounsaturated fatty acids and has very little omega-6.

“On page 138 the book states that the numbers of CVD ‘are still rising.’ This is not true; CVD mortality has indeed gone down in most western countries since the seventies. It has of course been claimed that the reason is cholesterol lowering treatments, but this is pure speculation. More likely causes are the decreasing smoking habits, better treatment of acute CVD and early mobilization [exercise] of the patients. Before 1970 heart patients were put to bed for several weeks.”

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s first experimental theater festival, Xfest , will bring an exciting array of talent to campus Wednesday-Saturday, May 12-15. The Xfest is planned as a festival of theatrical experimentation, often described as a presentation of innovative works as well as the development of new concepts and techniques in stage production.

Hailed by the New York Times as “fabulously strange, delicious, engaging and nuanced,” Red Metal Mailbox’s newest work premiered at The Chocolate Factory Theater in New York City in the spring 2009.

Red Metal Mailbox is a New York City based company that creates investigative performance. Their work has been presented at The Public Theater (365 Days/365 Plays), The Chocolate Factory Theater, Dixon Place, P.S. 122′s Homeroom, Dance Theater Workshop’s 40Forward, and Galapagos Art Space among other venues in New York City, as well as at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and the Metcalf Experimental Theater at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Artistic director Sarah Maxfield is a graduate of the SIUE Department of Theatre and Dance.

7:30 p.m. Friday, May 14?The Medicine Showdown by The Flying Carpet Theatre Co., a New York-based company?Set in small-town Georgia during the 1918 global influenza pandemic, this original work pits a crusading doctor against an entourage of “snake oil” salesmen. Public health seems at odds with the town’s economic interests as civic leaders debate shutting down all public gatherings?including the popular and lucrative local medicine show. Interwoven with the realistic play (inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s classic Enemy of the People) are scenes from a period medicine show, complete with tap dance, old time melodrama, country music and vaudeville style comedy.

Based in New York City, The Flying Carpet Theatre (FCT) creates work that fuses vaudeville style entertainment?mime, circus, conjuring, puppetry, dance and clowning. With a special eye toward nurturing new bold voices, the FCT has introduced several important artists to New York. For its inaugural production, FCT presented 1001 Nights, an original musical by Robert Lopez who went on to win the Tony Award for Avenue Q and then followed with a mime and magic show called The Dancing Handkerchief, of which the New York Times raved, “you will fall under its spell.”

7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15?Zen Tales by UMO Ensemble from Seattle, in the theater at SIUE’s Katherine Dunham Hall?During the past 23 years, UMO Ensemble has become known as one of the most innovative, compelling and critically acclaimed performance companies based in the Pacific Northwest. The ensemble has performed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. As its mission, the UMO Ensemble is dedicated to “providing awe, challenge and inspiration” to theater audiences. The group will not disappoint as they take the Arts & Issues stage in SIUE’s Katherine Dunham Hall with their irreverent approach to Zen: share the experience of the red nose monk clowns tackling ancient Buddhist, Zen and Sufi stories through mask, puppetry, live music and laughter.

Talk back sessions will be conducted following each performance, with directors and cast members fielding audience questions. Xfest workshops on campus will be open to the public and students.
