Grand Adventures Ranch Launches Holistic Equine Cancer Recovery Program

Sonoita, AZ (PRWEB) September 6, 2008

Grand Adventures Ranch, already well-known for providing holistic alternatives toward animal health, has introduced the Equine Cancer Recovery Program, a recovery program to help cancer-stricken horses.

For too long, the word ‘cancer’ can mean the immediate death for a horse. Like humans, conventional treatment for equine cancer can be overwhelmingly expensive, often with disappointing results.

Grand Adventures Ranch — located just outside of Tucson, Arizona — is out to change all that with its new holistic equine wellness center that offers horse owners an ‘All-Inclusive’ integrative approach combining nutrition, detoxification, oxygenation and immune support.

The motto at Grand Adventures Ranch is “Cancer is a blessing. The blessing of time given by a warning sign.”

Successful recoveries with the ranch’s protocol have included horses with squamous cell carcinoma, sarcoids and melanomas.

A key difference between Grand Adventure Ranch and other equestrian healing organizations is that Grand Adventure focuses on recovery as opposed to the disease. Program horses receive complete veterinary supervised care, augmented by physical therapy, massage, BioScan light therapy (photopuncture) and access to large grass pastures. All horses receive a diet of the best grass hays, organic grains, and full nutritional supplementation.

“Cancer doesn’t have to be a terminal illness for a human, and there is no reason it automatically has to be for a horse either” center director Kay Aubrey-Chimene said. “We provide the very best individualized care for each and every horse that comes through the program.”

Quality of life is vital at Grand Adventures Ranch, which is why horses are not kept in small, shut-in stalls or kept in isolation. All stalls have spacious runs and horses have regular pasture turn out. Each horse is partnered with pasture buddies to provide emotional as well as physical support.

Perhaps best of all, owners have complete access to their horses and are encouraged to participate in the recovery process. The historic Rainbow’s End Bed & Breakfast is onsite for those wishing to stay for longer periods.

For those who cannot bring their horses to the ranch, personalized, remote coaching programs are also available. Clients in the coaching program learn new approaches toward feeding and caring for horses to prevent serious health challenges while working with a targeted health regimen for their horse.

The Equine Cancer Recovery Program is the latest holistic offering from Grand Adventures Ranch, who already has received high praise for its boarding and therapy offerings.

Grand Adventures Ranch is a holistic equine wellness center located in Sonoita, Arizona on the historic Sonoita Stallion Manor ranch originally built for Quarter Horse racing legend ‘Lightning Bar’. The center directors are Kay Aubrey-Chimene, Bio-Nutritional Consultant and her husband Jeff Chimene.

The levels of phospholipids in the new Cabot P.O.L. formulas have been clinically studied and shown to be safe and effective by doctors and nurses in the treatment of many serious skin conditions. Wild Blueberry Association of North America Launches Leading Online Database of Berry Research

Portland, ME (PRWEB) June 21, 2012

The Wild Blueberry Association of North America has developed one of the world’s most comprehensive blueberry research resources for scientists, researchers and other professionals.

The Wild Blueberry Research Library (http://www.wildblueberries.com/researchdatabase) is an easy-to-use, searchable online database of blueberry health research, a subject that has grown rapidly as scientists learn more about the potential health benefits of this fruit. In the past 15 years, the number of studies published annually has grown from a handful to over 100.

?Wild Blueberries are one of the world’s most researched fruits, because the more researchers learn about Wild Blueberries and their potential health benefits, the more they want to know,? said Susan Davis, MS, RD, nutrition advisor to the Wild Blueberry Association of North America.

Research has established that Wild Blueberries deliver many potential benefits because of their uniquely broad mixture of phytonutrient compounds. In addition, they are an antioxidant leader, have a low glycemic index, are rich in nutrients, high in fiber, and are gluten free.

Active areas of blueberry or wild blueberry health research include brain health and cognitive function, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, cancer and more.

?The Wild Blueberry Research Library catalogs this data in one place,? Davis noted. ?It’s a tremendous tool for researchers, educators, journalists, physicians and students.?

Studies in the Wild Blueberry Research Library are grouped into searchable research categories. Major categories include clinical trials, aging, antioxidants, brain health/cognition, cardiovascular/hypertension/stroke and phytochemical composition.

The Wild Blueberry Research Library made its debut at the recent Food for Your Whole Life? Health Symposium in New York before a gathering of leading nutritionists, researchers and health experts.

Hotathon launches Brenner Eugenides Tribute to benefit JDRF

Martinsville, New Jersey (PRWEB) July 19, 2012

Hotathon releases an exclusive eight song EP of the live performances from the private Brenner Eugenides Tribute Concert held at Spike Hill in Brooklyn earlier this year. The EP is accompanied by a Hotathon campaign to raise awareness and funds for JDRF, the organization dedicated to improving lives and curing type 1 diabetes.

The recordings are by the NY musical artists Broken Glow, The Golden Age of Transit, Cousin Sleaze, Jim Earl, Carin Beam, Michael Benham and Chicks Throwing Bricks who all had a personal connection to Brenner. These Brooklyn artists are partnering with Hotathon to benefit JDRF and to celebrate the life of their friend Brenner Eugenides who died earlier this year after a life long struggle with type 1 diabetes.

Hotathon has partnered with the artists to record the performance, and produce and release an EP which is available for sale at hotathon.com. A minimum of 90% of the purchase price of the recordings will go to JDRF. The exclusive Hotathon to raise funds for JDRF will run for a limited time until August 31, 2012.

Mikal Celentano, founder of Hotathon explains, ?Most benefit concerts are just that, a benefit concert. Hotathon and JDRF working together with the artists will enable us to keep this effort going well beyond the event, allowing us to continue to spread the word about Brenner, and about how others who suffer from diabetes can tap into JDRF to get the education and support they need to live healthy lives.?

?I thank the JDRF for listening to our story, being open to help spread the word and wanting to be at the Not Just a Pretty Face musical memorial in his honor,” said Kim Harty, Brenner?s mother. “Brenner was a great person that shouldn’t have died from Juvenile Diabetes. We learned two important things from his death that need to be shared. The first is that Juvenile Diabetes can kill quickly, within a matter of days. The second is that as a child most are sheltered in dealing with their disease. Our society and schools want inclusivity. This doesn’t work when that child reaches adulthood and society doesn’t care anymore that you are different. While Brenner was a champ at dealing with his disease as a child, he went through a period of being sick of being different, as do many with diseases or mental challenges in young adulthood.?

Carin Beam of Chicks Throwing Bricks said, ?A Tribute EP is especially great for anyone who couldn’t be at the Spike Hill concert and who would want to share in the music, and want to support this effort.?

About Hotathon:
